The cottage is a cosy hide-away set in a gorgeous garden reminiscent of an era when time seemed to move slower and people seemed to relax deeper. The cottage at Drakenzicht Mountain Getaway provides an opportunity to reconnect to the essence of you. The cottage can accommodate 4 guests in two double rooms, each with its own bathroom.
The private outside deck offers splendid views of the garden and over the gorge. The Berg can also be seen and its presence felt.
Main bedroom
The main bedroom with its king size bed and built-in closet is warm and welcoming. Open the curtain and look out over the splendid mountains and garden. The modern en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The second bedroom is spacious and light and can accommodate two guests on two single beds.The room has built-in cupboards and a view of the garden. The second bathroom is adjacent to this bedroom.

The kitchen invites nature inside with a heart-warming view of the garden, gorge and mountains. This self-catering unit is equipped with a four plate stove, an oven, an induction plate, a fridge and a kettle. Workspace is ample and catering is easy.
Lounge
The living area is a joint lounge/dining room with access from the deck outside. The area is warm, light and sunny, with luxuriously carpeted floors, two couches, a television and a dining table with four chairs. It is the perfect spot to dive into a novel and surface from time to time for a peak at the changing view.
Deck / Patio
The deck serves as a private patio complete with table and four chairs. A sliding glass door connects the deck to the lounge inside.
Immerse yourself here in nature and birdsong while you relax over brunch with freshly baked bread from the Valley Bakery and hand crafted cheese from the Berg Air Lifestyle Centre down the road. Late afternoon a craft beer from Drakensberg Brewery, situated in the same Lifestyle Centre, might just come in handy to experience the sunset on this same deck.
Don’t forget to go for a walk in the mountain meadows on the property expecting different indigenous flowers in the varying seasons.
